Dr. S. Venkateswara Rao is currently working as Professor in the Structures Division, Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Warangal, India. He received his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Civil Engineering from     J N T U College of Engineering, Kakinada, A.P in 1996. He obtained his Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in Structural Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 1999. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2011. He has 23 years of teaching experience. He taught several courses to both B.Tech. (Civil Engineering) and M.Tech. (Engineering Structures) students apart from guided 54 M Tech Dissertation works and 21 B Tech Project works. Under his guidance, 2 PhDs were awarded and currently, 6 scholars are working. He has published around 50 papers in reputed journals and conferences.

 

Dr. Rao has collaborated with Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal and Slovak Academy of Science, Institute of Construction and Architecture SAV, Bratislava, Slovakia. His areas of expertise are Self Compacting Concrete, Fiber Reinforced Concrete, Durability of Concrete, Self Compacting Mortars with Nano materials, recycled aggregate in SCC/SCM and Multi Component Binders in SCM.

 

Dr. Rao has acquired vast administrative experience by holding several assigned positions like faculty in charge of Structural Engineering Laboratory, Head of Structures Division, Associate Dean (Research and Consultancy), Coordinator – Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SRIC) and Faculty in-charge for Engineering and Maintenance Unit of NIT Warangal. He has accomplished all his tasks with utmost sincerity and dedication.
