Research Outline

My principal research interests are in the field of designing of optical waveguides, sensors and photonic devices. Currently, I am in a regular position of Full Professor at NIT Warangal, India. I am involved here with active research with my PG and PhD students in field of fiber optic sensor and mode filed field studies of optical waveguides. So far under my supervision, one PhD student has successfully completed his PhD thesis and four students are ongoing. In my post-doctoral research, I have studied parametric amplification and four wave mixing experiments in special type optical fibers for slow light application. My study also includes achieving high-performance dispersion engineering on photonic crystal waveguides. In my doctoral research on analyzing waveguides and designing for device applications, I worked out new methods/algorithms aimed at precise and fast modeling /characterizing these complex structures, which I have implemented for experimentally fabricated structures as well as designs for new applications like supercontinuum generation, tapered device.

My immediate future plan of research is to carry out optical waveguide/fibers related theoretical and experimental studies for sensing applications and realizing new photonic devices/ structures.
