Dr. M.V.N. Sivakumar obtained his PhD in 2012 from Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His areas of expertise includes Computational mechanics, Risk and Reliability Assessment of Nuclear Structures. Dr. Sivakumar has worked in the area of Probabilistic Analysis of Nuclear Structural Components for his doctoral degree. Dr. Sivakumar has collaborated with Institute of Mechanics & Advanced Materials (IMAM), Cardiff School of Engineering, Cardiff University, United Kingdom on a project " Knowledge Economy Partnership in Education" Funded by British Council which is an international network involved working with a variety of research experts across UK.           

Dr. Sivakumar has previously worked as Junior Research Fellow at SERC, Chennai where his job responsibilities include wind tunnel models and dispersion model studies.

He acquired expertise in several areas of Structural Engineering, such as Fracture Mechanics, Structural Health Monitoring, Seismic Resistant Design, Advances in Concrete Technology and Finite Element Applications. He has published  around 70 papers in journals and conferences.Under his guidance, 3 PhDs were awarded and currently 7 scholars are working.
