Dr. Madhavi Kesari, with a Ph.D in  ELT from Osmania University and M.Phil in ELT from the Institute of English & Foreign Languages University Hyderabad,  has 16 years of teaching and research experience.  Her research and academic interests are in designing task based ESP courses, Multiple intelligences -Visual Literacies, employing Flipped classroom  methods of teaching, Learner engagement strategies, Innovative methods and behaviourist approaches to language learning etc., She has authored five books, published 43 scholarly articles and presented 28 papers at various national and international conferences and seminars. She has also organized twenty four workshops on English language teaching and learning and delivered number of invited talks on 'employing eclectic approaches to language learning/teaching', ?blending technology into education etc. She has contributed significantly to the design and development of  curriculum for Ph.D  programme offered in the schools of ELT, Linguistics and Literature. She is a Core team member of Centre for  Educational Technology and Teaching-Learning Centre at NIT Warangal.

    1. Research /Academic Activities:

     

    • Designed task based ESP courses. Designed Nine modules on developing academic writing to meet the professional needs of students pursuing Management, Computer Application and Engineering Sciences as part of my Ph.D programme. These units have been published as a book. Titled 'Developing Academic Skills- A Nexus of Reading and Writing  ISBN 978-3-659-29242-2.   

     

    • Well versed in designing self instructional materials for distance learners. Developed materials during my M.Phil programme as part of the compulsory course �??Distance Education  and also designed materials for Engineering students as part of the First year Course  English and Communication Skills  for JNT University  Curriculum.

     

    • Integrated technology in teaching effectively by identifying pedagogical problems in  classroom teaching in the context of teaching Communication skills to engineering students. As a part of this endeavour based on the findings of action research, several papers have been published with reference to using technology in effective learning.

     

     

    1. Experience in Curriculum Designing:

     

    Syllabus Designed: As a member on Board of Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University and several other Autonomous Engineering Colleges, designed Syllabus for Ph.d programme offered in the schools of ELT; Linguistics and Literature at JNTU, Hyderabad. Also designed syllabus for MBA., MCA., and B.Tech programmes at various Autonomous Colleges.  

     

           Courses Designed : Nine units have been developed related to reading and writing.             The materials or  tasks enable the students develop analytical, negotiation,             interaction and  scientific skills. The material is basically drawn from the             subjects'  disciplines and other   genre specific texts based on science and             technology in order to facilitate learning connecting reading  writing and vice     versa.

    Attended a Seven -Day Faculty Development program (Virtual )  on ‘Universal Human Values’ Organized by National Institute of Technology, Warangal, from 12th  -20th July 2021.

    Actively participated in a One- Day Awareness Programme on Importance of Intellectual Property Rights on 04-08-2019 organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi in collaboration with Office of the Controller General of patents, Designs and Trademarks, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India at National Institute of Technology, Warangal.

     

    Completed a six week online MOOCS course titled   'Introduction to Technology Enabled Learning'offered by Common Wealth of Learning in Collaboration with Athabasca University Canada  from 6, November to 10, December 2017.
